Dubai hotels offer pre-holiday deals to beat summer heat

Summer is finally here, and keeping up with the soaring temperatures are the ‘hot’ hotel deals that’s up for grabs.

So, for those of us who don’t want to splurge on soaring high summer air travel can opt to stay in the UAE, and invest in pocket-friendly staycations.

Atlantis The Palm is topping our list with exclusive deals when booking with visa cards. From Dh1,934 per night for a deluxe room, a family of four can enjoy a relaxing time away from home.

The deal includes accommodation, a daily buffet breakfast, lunch or dinner (in one of 15 different outlets), complimentary access to The Lost Chambers Aquarium and Aquaventure Waterpark, two for one on massages at ShuiQi Spa & Fitness and daily access to the kids club.

Talking to ‘Emirates24|7’, a staff at the reservation desk said the deal is very popular and bookings must be done early to avoid disappointment.

The Madinat Jumeirah steps in with deals starting from Dh1,680, for bookings until September 30.

“There’s a 20 per cent discount on room rates, when you book a minimum of two nights on a half-board basis,” confirmed an official at the reservation desk.

The summer offer also allows free access to Wild Wadi Waterpark and their pristine private beach.

Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa on the outskirts of Dubai has unveiled its ‘The Great Escape’ promotion for summer with prices starting from Dh490 per room per night.

The bookings can be done until September 30, and the package offers volleyball and archery, 25 per cent discount at food and beverage outlets, spa treatments, tennis programmes and safaris.

They are also offering a flat 55 per cent off on car rentals and 20 per cent off on KidZania, Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, Dubai Ice Rink and Sega Republic.

An official at the reservation desk clarified that there are packages with breakfast, half-board and full-board the prices will be added depending on the additions. “It’s fast selling.”

Jumeirah Creekside Hotel is a great pick for a family staycation for prices starting Dh550 per room per night. “You can get a 20 per cent discount on the room rate, when booking for a minimum of three nights stay,” the fineprint reads.

The package, which will be available until September 30, will include free buffet breakfast, access to Wild Wadi Waterpark or the private beach and a 20 percent discount for use at the spa and in selected restaurants. Children under 12 can stay for free.

With a budget starting at Dh510, the Fairmont The Palm is also offering a fun deal for families that will be on until the end of the year.

They are offering a “15 per cent discount on the best available room rate”. The fineprint reads, “guests will also get a buffet breakfast, a 90-minute spa treatment (as an upgrade when booking a 60-minute treatment), use of the kids club and more.”

For the budget-conscious, there’s Majestic Hotel Towers that’s offering a summer discount of Dh399 until August 6, with a 20 percent off at selected outlets.

There’s also no-frills attached Citymax Hotels that is offering rooms starting from Dh195 for their Bur Dubai outlets for bookings until September 30.

All hotels this website spoke to confirmed that deals did help improve the occupancy rates during the peak summer months.

According to the data released by analyst STR Global, the occupancy rate dips during the summer months. While Dubai hotels recorded 87.6 per cent occupancy rate in March 2014, it hit lows of 45.9 per cent in July 2014. It improved in October with 81.9 per cent.

This year, February and March recorded an average of 86.1 per cent occupancy rate.

It is to be noted that Average Daily Rate (ADR) per room is the lowest in July, 2014 at Dh614.79 when compared to Dh1,036.65 in January, 2015.
