Dubai hubby divorces wife after tip-off from 'other'

People envied this man. He was married to two wives and, surprisingly, they were best friends and lived happily under one roof.

Both the wives used to spend most of their free time together in shopping malls, beauty salons and cafes. But all of a sudden, one of the wives decided to get rid of the other and betrayed her.

Speaking to ‘Emirates24|7’, Chancellor Mohammed Rostom, Advocate-General and Head of the Family and Juvenile Prosecution in Dubai, said that this was one of the strangest cases he has come across.

One of the wives told the husband that his other wife was dating somebody. She accused her of leaving the coffee shop and disappearing for some time and not answering her phone calls on several occasions when they had gone out together.

Advocate-General Mohammed said, the husband could not tolerate that his wife was cheating on him. “He questioned her and ended up beating her badly. The woman went to the police station, and the medical report confirmed that she was beaten up.”

He pointed out that when the case was referred to the Family and Juvenile Prosecution, they  tried their best to solve the case, but it was difficult as both the husband and wife were not satisfied and they wanted to go to court. “At the end, we referred the case to the court, and I believe that they got divorced.”

Advocate-General Mohammed added that they try to solve most cases without referring them to the courts. “We succeed in many cases, however, some cases when both husbands and wives are stubborn, it is difficult to make them change their minds and remain together,” he added.
