Dubai Metro carried 33.3m commuters in Q1 2013
During the first quarter of 2013, Dubai Metro achieved a significant increase in the number of commuters carried compared to the same period last year, as the use of both Red and Green lines has increased with over 33 million passengers from January to March 2013.
Adnan Al Hammadi, Chief Executive Officer of the Rail Agency, Road and Transport Authority, stated that this year has seen growth in the number of Metro commuters compared to the same period of last year.
"This is what we seek to achieve through our annual schemes by setting a diversified package of initiatives and activities that contribute to attracting all segments of society to use the Metro as the premier means of transportation, as it is secure, safe and luxurious at the same time,” Al Hammadi said.
The Red Line's Deira City Centre Station was ranked No.1 in attracting around 1,643,115 commuters between January and March, while the Green Line's Al Fahidi station came first in the same period with 1,372,303 commuters.
