An incident at the Abu Baker Al Siddique station on Dubai Metro’s Green Line has left many stranded this morning, with the station being cleared, commuters said.

The Roads and Transports Authority said it was looking into the incident, with no further clarification on what occurred.

The ‘incident’ occurred approximately 8.25am this morning, with the escalators shutting down and people being requested to leave the premises.

GS, who was at the station, told Emirates 24|7: “I was on the escalator heading down to the metro, when it stopped midway, with the alarm going off.

“Immediately, the PA informed everyone that an incident has been reported and we need to leave the premises immediately.”

She continued: “However, the barriers were closed when all of us reached up top and had to wait another five minutes before they were opened and we could leave the station.”

She added that no other information was given at the time.

Morning commuters have informed the station has been reopened since.
