Dubai Municipality: No virus in rose water

The Dubai Municipality has refuted reports of ‘viruses’ detected in rose water, which is currently being circulated in the market.

The municipality made the statement on social media, via its official Instagram account

The authority did confirm some ‘pollutants’ have been discovered in a random sampling and the matter is currently being handled by a regulatory authority.

In a complete statement, Dubai Municipality stated: “This news is not true at all as there are no viruses that have been detected in this product at Dubai Municipality.

“Samples of the product have been tested in the country’s laboratories, which have shown a presence of some contaminants. This matter is being controlled by the regulatory authorities with professionalism and in accordance to the pollutant that has been discovered.

“Therefore, we have to inform the public that the authorities will not hesitate to reveal any information that might affect the consumer’s health.”
