In the land of the super-, ultra-, mega-, high-end, luxury cars, the concept of the mobile home or camper-caravan has not quite caught on.

So while avid desert and beach-side campers might have their interest piqued by this latest vehicle to hit Dubai’s roads, even the average car owner (which by UAE standards could be the Range Rover Sport), will do a double take.

A 40-foot mobile home, complete with gold plating could soon be seen on Dubai roads.

The price tag? Dh9.8 million. How’s that for a drive to Oman.

Makers of the EleMMent Palazzo, German-Austrian manufacturer Marchi Mobile, have confirmed to Emirates 24|7 that Dubai is on their radar.

“We do have inquiries from Dubai,” Juliane Rönisch, Chief Brand Manager, Marchi Mobile, said.

“We currently produce five to 10 vehicles per year and those are for worldwide sales.”

Rönisch informed that tailor-made versions can cost even more than Dh9.8 million gold-platted one.

As per the company, the commercial model starts at 750,000 euros with the top-of-the-line mobile home costing as much as 2 million euros.

However, Marchi Mobile isn’t displaying EleMMent Palazzo in Dubai for now. It is also not seeking any permanent representation in UAE or GCC countries.

Rönisch, however, is quick to add: “That might change soon.”

The eleMMent series is not a prototype concept, but vehicles that are ready to be produced in limited lots and sold, the company says.

EleMMent Palazzo is 40 feet in length and can incorporate a ‘Sky Lounge’ design, which allows to set up by push of a button furniture, sun roof, handrail and stairs.

The vehicle can be equipped with a wellness bathroom with rainfall shower, high-end multi-media system and real stream video surveillance. Moreover, the vehicle has the ability to self-wash automatically.

Marchi Mobile offers remote service assistance where by owners are able to communicate 24 hours directly with their service support team via direct access.

“We have the ability to monitor remotely all important functions of your vehicle and are able to intervene in case of an emergency,” the company states.
