Dubai Police registered four major traffic offences against a single motorist in one night.

Major General Mohammed Saif Al Zaffeen, Director, Dubai Traffic Police, said the incident took place in Al Warqa’a area where a Dubai Police Patrol was about to seize cars allegedly involved in illegal races.

He added that one driver was driving in a very reckless and dangerous manner.

Major General Al Zaffeen said that the driver was taking the vehicle just off the road into a sandy area near the highway and significantly stirring up the sand, resulting in low visibility for other motorists.

When the police patrol stopped the driver and asked for his license and papers he refused and took off again, driving his car recklessly.

The driver continued to drive recklessly towards the Al Khawaneej Road roundabout.

Another patrol near the area stopped the vehicle and again asked the driver to present his licence.

This time the driver asked to police to follow him to his house where he had kept the licence.

The police patrol followed him to a farm into which the motorist drove in.

The patrol waited for a few minutes but the driver did not come out.

Al Zaffeen said that an unknown person, perhaps a relative, finally came out and when the police told the man about the driver’s dangerous driving and traffic violations, they were astonished at the reaction.

Rather than acknowledge the fault and the threat the driver posed to other vehicles on the road, the unknown person on the farm threatened the police patrol and asked them to leave the farm.

The patrol promptly went back to the police station and filed a case against the motorist and the man on the farm.
