New installment offer to pay traffic fines

Dubai Police has introduced a new installment scheme for motorists to pay their accumulated traffic fines.

According to a report in Emarat Al Youm, the offer is valid for fines against traffic violations committed on Dubai roads within a one-year period only.

In order to avail the installment scheme, which is valid for a year, the value of fines should not exceed Dh3,000 for individuals and Dh20,000 for companies.

Also, individuals should make a down payment of 30 per cent with the first installment, while companies must pay 50 per cent of the total fine along with the cheques for the remaining amount. A charge of Dh50 per cheque will be levied.

The installment can be staggered for a period of one year.

Motorists should present the cheques in person. However, a relative of the motorist can also pay the premiums, said police.
