Dubai Police sets new Guinness World Record

A UAE flag-shaped mosaic built by the General Department of Organizations Protective Security and Emergency at the Dubai Police using 80,656 plastic bottles has been entered into the Guinness World Record book as the largest in the world, beating a mosaic built in London, using only 18,620 bottles.

The flag mosaic, which is 37 meters long by 14 meter wide, was built in response to an initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to mark Flag Day to coincide with the anniversary of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's accession to the presidency.
