Dubai Police will add 666 patrols as part of safety measures during Eid Al Fitr holidays.

Maj. Gen. Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant of General Commander of Dubai Police for Criminal Investigation, said a large number of officers and individuals will be deployed in public places such as markets, shopping centers and beaches across the emirate, Emarat Al Youm daily reported.

The police will also be patrolling the beaches to prevent any abuses or harassment to the beach-goers.

Al Mansouri asked beach-goers not to carry valuables or leave them in their clothes and cars.

Stressing that the Dubai Police completely control and monitor these areas, he, however, urged visitors to be more cautious by not leaving the car engine running or neglect the children while swimming, the Arabic daily reported.

He stressed that increased security personnel enhances the feeling of security among public and provides rapid assistance to those in need.

Al Mansouri asked homeowners travelling abroad during Eid Al Fitr holidays to participate in the house security programme to ensure protection of their homes during their absence.
