Dubai Police will soon introduce electric bikes and bicycles for patrol, according to a top police official.
Brig Abdullah Ali Al-Ghaithi, Director-General of Security for Establishments and Emergency, Dubai Police, said, “We shall deploy ten of them within days, of which five shall be bicycles and others electric bikes.”
He said, these vehicles are also suitable for covering tourist and business areas as well as shopping centres, reported ‘Al Bayan’.
These eco-friendly bikes join a luxury patrol fleet of Dubai Police, such as Ferrari, Bugatti, Cross Country Mercs, horses, Bentley, Lamborghini and others.
Last year, 21-year-old Hamad Mohammad Al Tai’e designed a bicycle with special technical features, such as police light and siren, hydraulic brakes and an air container to inflate tyres within seconds.
