The Dubai Health Authority’s (DHA’s) Health Regulation Department has begun VIP licensing service for healthcare professionals, said a top health official.

“The introduction of this service will directly benefit all health professionals including doctors, nurses and allied health professionals who are keen to get a license to practise in Dubai. It will also benefit health investors who wish to set up health facilities in Dubai.

The regulation department receives an average of 200 requests for health professional license and 5 to 10 requests for health facility license on a daily basis so we reckon this service will provide new applications with ease and convenience,” said Dr Layla Al Marzouqi, Director of Health Regulation at the DHA.

Dr Layla Al Marzouqi, Director of Health Regulation at the DHA, discusses the new VIP service for health professionals.

The fast-track service will reduce the time taken to receive a health license from 2 weeks to five (working) days. It will provide health professionals with an end-to-end seamless service that includes everything from processing of documents to delivery of license.

Healthcare professionals who want to opt for this fast-track service can e-mail the regulation department and a VIP service coordinator will inform them about the documents needed and will  schedule an appointment for them. “The coordinator will upload all their information and documents online, will schedule the mandatory online examination date as per the health professional’s convenience and once the license is ready it will be delivered to the health professional’s address.”

Dr Al Marzouqi said that in case a candidate does not successfully complete his online assessment, the candidate could reapply and the maximum number of attempts is three within three months of submitting the VIP service. “The process remains exactly the same; all the steps will have to be completed including credentialing and primary source verification."

The VIP licensing department will be located at the DHA’s Health Regulation office in Deira.
