Dubai Taxi buys 543 Toyota Camry cars from Al Futtaim Motors

The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC), Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has further beefed up its taxi fleet with new vehicles supplied by Al-Futtaim Motors, the exclusive distributor of Toyota vehicles in the UAE.
The RTA's culminated its long and continuing partnership by signing an agreement with the Co. to supply 543 a brand new Toyota Camry vehicles, model 2012.

The MoU was signed by Ahmed Hashim Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA Licensing Agency & Head of the Committee overseeing the Dubai Taxi Corporation; and Simon Frith, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Motors, in the presence of the Acting CEO of DTC Yousef Al Ali; DTC Director of Resources & Support Mansour Al Falasi, DTC Director of Fleet Drivers Affairs Ammar bin Tamim, DTC Acting Director of Fleet Operations Mohammed Yousef in addition to senior officials from both parties.

"Al-Futtaim Company is considered a key supplier of taxicabs to DTC fleet which currently amounts to 3504 vehicles deployed 24 hours a day, including holidays, official holidays and Islamic Eids. Currently Toyota vehicles account for the lion's share amounting to 1997 taxicabs. This MoU culminates our 15-year joint cooperation and further strengthens and consolidates our strategic partnership. Toyota vehicles strength lies in their legendary performance, quality, durability and reliability, all of which are crucial requirements for the operations of taxicabs operations," said Ahmed Hashim Bahrozyan.

"The DTC's confidence in Camry cars has grown over the past years, as these vehicles proved reliable, following years of operation with hundreds of thousands of kilometers done. Therefore, it was not difficult to take a decision on the purchase the 543 new Camry cars, especially after the recent improvements introduced to the 2012 model, namely efficiency in fuel consumption along with vehicle's distinctive value. This has further devoted its leading position within the same category in terms of the total cost," continued Bahrozyan.

"As part of its strategic vision, the DTC is seeking to leverage the quality of its service and facilities on offer to customers, increase operational efficiency, promote & publicize its services and initiatives, and enhance its standing among all community segments to epitomize the DTC's new vision "Pioneers in Passenger Transport Services," he added.

Frith said: "We, at Al Futtaim Motors, are proud of our co-operation with a leading entity of the caliber of the DTC for more than 15 years, climaxed by the supply of 543 brand new Camry vehicles. We confirm our keen attention to continuing our distinguished ties with the DTC on the right track, as we view the DTC as our leading partner, since we form together a national phenomenon, where the Toyota brand is linked to taxicabs in the minds of customers."

"This new agreement stands out as a clear testimony of the amazing reputation gained by Camry over generations, thanks to its low cost and exceptional value. When designing Camry 2012, Toyota engineers focused on the points of strengths that made it the top seller worldwide.
Engineers have also improved fuel consumption efficiency by 11%, besides making it more spacious and comfortable for passengers. The car's interior and exterior design has also been re-rejuvenated to suit the taste of the owners of the current Camry loyals, as well as new buyers".

The after sale services have been absolutely ideal since Al Futtaim Motors delivered the first taxicab to DTC 15 years ago, where very good maintenance is provided and the delivery is always made on time.
