A teacher-turned-real estate agent has become an overnight millionaire in Dubai by closing a Dh70 million deal for a villa on Palm Jumeirah, the world’s largest man-made island.

“I still remember how my hands were going cold when I was writing an email to my directors declaring that finally, after almost three months of hard work, I was at the last stage of completing the biggest deal of my real estate career,” Vinita Kataria, property consultant, Terra Casa Real Estate Brokers, told Emirates 24|7.

The deal anchored by her is just ahead of her completing one year with the Dubai-based brokerage firm.

“I was feeling really proud of myself for this achievement, as it’s a stepping stone and broadens my horizons to much bigger achievements.

“Being a mother of two boys and a teacher for more than a decade, it was not easy for me to change the career and start afresh all over again.”

The deal is likely to reap a commission of Dh1.4 million (considering the buyer pays 2 per cent of the unit’s sale value).

She believes nothing is impossible, if you have a vision.

“I have dreams, the dreams that don’t let me sleep. Nothing is impossible, if you have a vision.

“I discovered that I had a strong will and was much stronger and disciplined than I thought. Well, cracking this deal has boosted my confidence, makes me believe that I am on the right path with my feet grounded, my dreams in my eyes and vision very clear.”

The Dh70m villa is part of the M State by Ocean Breeze, a cluster of five villas on Frond M of Palm Jumeirah, developed by AA Real Estate Development.

The villa sold comprises six bedrooms with seven bathrooms (ensuite) and facilities such as infinity private pool, private beach, cinema room, 360-degree sea and skyline view.

The unit is scheduled for handover in December 2015.

“The villa has been bought as a vacation home,” Zishan Khan, Director, Terra Casa Real Estate Brokers, without revealing details of the buyer.

“The deal was going on for a couple of months and finally was closed last week,” he mentions, adding, “This particular buyer had very high expectations in what he wanted in his home and did not wish to compromise on any aspect.

“Our consultant spent countless hours with him in shortlisting and identifying the required properties.

“After a considerable period of time, it was concluded that this particular property would suit the bill.”

Khan reveals the company is also on the verge of closing another big deal for a famous individual, not disclosing the name, stating, “papers haven’t been signed”.
