After butterflies, flowers and bird parks, Dubai Municipality is planning to build a park for crocodiles which is expected to open in the third quarter of 2016.

Nile crocodiles, the largest of crocodiles that live in fresh water, will be one of the main attractions of the park, according to a report in the Arabic newspaper Alroeya.

Director of properties in Dubai Municipality Khalifa Abdullah Hareb said that the Dubai crocodile park will be a tourist destination and the best environment for crocodiles to grow and reproduce will be created in the park.

Hareb explained that the project goes beyond entertainment as it will provide an opportunity for educational institutions to conduct research.

Hareb said hundreds of crocodiles will be there in the park which will be built within 10km from the airport.
