Dubai's jolly, foggy Christmas

Published

UAE residents woke up yet another foggy morning, with most areas covered by dense fog on Tuesday.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) activated its intelligent warning systems to alert motorists of road congestions.

There were road blocks in different locations such as Al Ittihad road near Ansar Mall, next to Hor Al Anz and several different spots on Emirates Road towards Dubai.

NCMS, meanwhile, warned that the early morning fog would continue for a few days to come.

Dubai Police in a tweet warned drivers to be extremely cautious and use the fog lights while driving.

The national weather bureau forecast partly cloudy skies and hazy weather for today.

Meanwhile, fresh northwesterly winds will start sweeping from the western region, which will see significant drop in temperatures.

However, according to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology, day temperatures today may rise.

The maximum temperatures forecast for today is 30 degrees centigrade and the minimum at 14 degrees in some mountanious areas.

RTA has displayed fog alerts on streets, urging motorists to drive carefully.

Vehicles were seen cruising through slowly on Sheikh Zayed Road early Monday morning.
