The Dubai Court of First Instance charged two Asians with forgong employment visas and swindling Dh20,000 from an unsuspecting victim.

According to a report in 'Khaleej Times', the duo - a Bangladeshi and a Pakistani -  forged 11 employment visas, which they claimed were issued by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs.

They are accused of tampering with the names and photos of applicants.

A Bangladeshi witness told the court that he had met the two defendants in Bur Dubai for employment visass for his friends. "He saw his friend handing over Dh7,500 to the two men as first installment. In return, the duo handed over copies of two employment visas," he recalled.

The Public Prosecution said that it had received a letter from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs along with 11 copies of the forged employment visas. According to the letter, the 11 visas did not have any details of entry permits registered in the residency department’s system. The visas have been seized, the paper said.
