Early morning showers reported in Dubai

Early morning rain was reported today in some parts of Dubai and other emirates as weather conditions remain unstable.

'Emirates24|7' readers reported light rains this morning (Sunday) in the Emirates Hills area while there have been unconfirmed reports of scattered showers in some of Northern Emirates.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) predicts a continuation of hazy and cloudy weather with chances of light rains in coastal areas and islands.

Wind speeds are expected to remain moderate while the sea could get rough at times.

With the spring season arriving in earnest, temperatures are expected to rise, going up to 36°C in internal areas while coastal regions will be slightly better at a maximum expected temperature of 31°C and in mountainous areas, mercury is forecast to hit a maximum of 26°C today.

The NCMS forecast for the day reads: “Hazy and partly cloudy weather in general, cloudy at times, especially the coastal, northern and the islands with chance of light rain over some of these areas. Moderate winds in general, freshening at times, causing blowing dust over internal and open lands. Sea will be moderate in general, rough at times.”
