Eid holidays for UAE public, private sectors

Eid Al Adha holidays for employees of UAE ministries and federal government departments will start from Wednesday, September 23 to Saturday, September 26.

All ministries and federal agencies will resume work on Sunday, September 27.

The announcement was made by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.

Meanwhile, the UAE Ministry of Labour has declared Wednesday, September 23 until Friday, September 25, an official paid holiday for all workers in the private sector to celebrate Eid Al Adha.

Saqr Ghobash made the announcement following Article No. 74 of Federal Law No. 8 of 1980 concerning labour relations, stating that there will be three days off for Eid Al Adha.

Earlier this week, Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court announced that the first day of Eid Al Adha will fall on Thursday, September 24.

It also said Arafaat Day will be on Wednesday, the ninth of the month of Dhu Al Hijjah, corresponding to September 23 and the first day of Eid accordingly will fall on Thursday, the tenth of the month of Dhu Al Hijjah.
