Dubai residents and visitors will be spoilt for choice when it comes to things to do over the next few months.

With an events calendar packed full of fashion festivals, music concerts and sporting events – not to mention the Eid Al Adha celebrations, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Dubai Calendar, the official listings of events in Dubai, highlights some of their favourite events coming up across the Emirate – not least the camel racing at the Al Marmoum race track from October 1-3.

Taking place around the emirate from mid-October, there will be a whole host of Islamic festivities to celebrate Eid Al Adha. Highlighting the true value of Eid including giving and sharing, the events will offer something for all the family to enjoy.

Eid in Dubai will also feature some of the best family activities across the city including Fashion Forward, Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience, GITEX Shopper and funny man Omid Djalili.

On October 11, the much anticipated Sandance season kicks off again at Atlantis, The Palm with headline act The Killers. Top supporting acts will include Of Monsters and Men, The Wailers and more. With such big acts, this popular event is sure to sell out fast.

If that’s not your scene then you may find prize-winning international guitar duo, Duo Transatlantique (October 27) or Italian operatic singer Alessandro Safina (October 10) will keep you entertained.

From October 15-18, fashion fans can look forward to a series of fashion-themed talks, panels and workshops as Fashion Forward is back for a second year running. Taking place at Madinat Jumeirah Fashion Forward Season 2 will feature the region’s most established and emerging designers as well as some of the leading fashion icons in the UAE. The event aims to develop a dynamic, sustainable fashion platform for the Middle East.

Considered one of the biggest sporting events in the UAE, World Champions will be in town as the Fifa Under17 World Cup UAE 2013 kicks off from October 17 – November 8 with Dubai playing host to the Pool E teams of Argentina, Austria, Canada and Iran. The series of matches will see players aged 17 and under go head to head in a bid to find the next up and coming football stars.

You’ll find other sporting champions at the Hamdan Sports Complex as they compete in the fourth round of the FINA Swimming World Cup 2013. From 17-18 October, the state of the art sporting complex will undoubtedly provide the perfect setting for world records to be shattered.  If swimming’s not your sport of choice, head to the 17th Asian Senior Men's Volleyball Championships from 28 September – 6 October.
