Going by the astronomers’ predictions, Eid Al Fitr will begin just two days before the official UAE weekend, which is Friday and Saturday, offering a 4-day long holiday break next month.

According to forecasts, Ramadan will start on August 1, Monday, and end on August 30, Tuesday.

Wednesday and Thursday would most likely be declared as Eid holidays followed by two-day weekend – effectively giving four days of holidays to UAE residents.

But, if Ramadan happens to be a 29-day month, people could enjoy a 5-day Eid holiday break – with 3 days of Eid holiday from Tuesday to Thursday, followed by the two-day weekend.

Generally, two-day holiday is given by authorities to all during Eid Al Fitr and three days during Eid Al Adha.

Last Wednesday, the Minister of Labour Saqr Ghobash issued a circular reducing work timings during Ramadan from eight hours to six hours. Work at Federal ministries and departments will be from 9am to 2pm during Ramadan.
