Eid holidays: Metro timings extended

The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the timing of various services to be delivered during Eid Al Adha holidays covering paid parking zones, Dubai Metro, Dubai Tram, public buses, marine transit modes, and RTA centers.

Free parking

All paid parking zones in Dubai emirate will be free to use during Eid holidays except for the parking lot at the fish market and the multi-level parking terminal.

Free parking will thus be available from Wednesday, September 23 to Saturday, September 26. On Sunday, September 27, parking fees will be reactivated.

Dubai Metro

Dubai Metro on both the Red and Green Lines will operate from 5.50am to 2am (the following day) on Wednesday and Thursday (September 23 and 24).

On Friday, Metro service will start at 10am and continue until 2am (the following day).

Express Metro service will not be operated on Wednesday and Thursday (September 23 and 24).

Dubai Tram

Dubai Tram will operate from 6.30am to 1.30am (the following day) on Wednesday and Thursday.

On Friday it will operate from 9am to 1.30am (the following day).

Bus

On Wednesday and Thursday (September 23 and 24), bus services from and to main stations such as the Gold Souk and Al Ghubaiba will start at 5am and continue to 12am (midnight).

Subsidiary stations of Satwa, Al Qusais, and Al Quoz Industrial will operate from 5am to 11pm.

The service to Jebel Ali Station will run from 6 am to 10 pm, while services from will run from 6am to 10.10pm, except for Route C01 from Satwa, which will be operational round-the-clock.

On the Metro feeder bus stations, such as Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Abu Hail, Etisalat, and Dubai Mall - Burj Khalifa station, the service timing will be from 5.15am to 1.10am (the following day).

The services of all Metro feeder buses will be synchronized with the timing of Metro operational hours, said the RTA.

The timing of inter-city bus services will be as follows:

Main stations (like Ghubaiba) will remain operational 24 hours a day, while subsidiary stations (such as Sabkha, Union Square) will be on duty from 5.30am to 12am (midnight).

Deira City Center and Karama stations will operate from 6.10am to 10pm.

External stations such as Sharjah (Jubail) will be on service round-the-clock, while Abu Dhabi station will be operational from 4.15am to 12.30am (past midnight).

Fujairah station will be running from 5.50 am to 9pm, and Ajman station will be on service from 5.25am to 10pm, while Hatta station will start service from 5.30am and continue to 9.30pm.

Marine services

Working hours of the water bus will be from 12pm to 12am.

The water taxi will operate from 10am to 6pm at Al Ghubaiba, from 2pm to 10pm at Marina Station, and from 11am to 7pm at Palm Jumeirah.

The service hours of the electric Abra at Burj Khalifa will be from 6pm to 11.30pm, and at Al Mamzar from 5pm to 1am (the following day). The abra at Atlantis will operate from 1pm to 9am.

The traditional Abra at Al Khor stations (Al Fahidi, Baniyas, Sabkha, Old Dubai Souk and Al Ghubaiba) will operate from 10am to 10pm during the week, and from 10am to 12 midnight on Friday and during the holidays.

As for the Dubai Ferry services, there will be three scheduled daily trips from Al Ghubaiba Station to Marina Station at 11am, 1pm and 6.30pm.

There is a scheduled trip for one hour along the coastal area at 3pm and up to Jumeirah Beach Park at 5pm.

Dubai Ferry will operate from Marina station to Al Ghubaiba station at 11am, 1pm, and 6.30pm in addition to a scheduled trip for one hour nearby Burj Al Arab at 3 pm, and nearby Atlantis Hotel at 5pm.

RTA centers

All RTA service centers will remain closed during the holiday starting from Wednesday up to Saturday, September 26, and will resume duty onSunday, September 27, 2015.
