Eid in Dubai: How to keep your kids busy during Eid holidays

Entertaining your kids can be a tricky business at the best of times, and it's even more difficult during holidays.

With schools closed for a good 9 days during Eid Al Adha, parents are looking at options to keep them constructively occupied.

Even as many have mall attractions on their list, there are some free options available as well. For example, Cedars Jebel Ali International Hospital is launching its annual school painting competition, which is open to all students in the UAE.

Running for the 3rd year, the competition’s aim is to discover and promote artistic inclinations of children in the UAE with three themes to choose from: “Family and Friends”, “Nature and Animals” and “Dubai and the UAE”. With lots of prizes offered from the eight associated sponsors, this competition is open to all schools across the UAE for students between 6 and 10 years old.

The hospital will celebrate the competition on November 14, with an awarding ceremony to announce the final winners and give them their valuable prizes. All the winning entries will be displayed at a permanent art exhibition at the hospital.

Partner event sponsors are Babyshop, Dubai Dolphinarium, JA Jebel Ali Golf Resort, Kidzania, Yaya Vitamins, Kids.Blog!, Proserve and Big Bus Tours.

Entries are open until October 31 to students from 6 to 10 years and they must be submitted by their schools.
