If you plan to stay back in the UAE and celebrate Eid Al Fitr here, then brace yourself for a hot and sticky week ahead.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has warned of foggy, muggy conditions over the next few days as humidity levels hit highs of 90 per cent, while the Mercury will find itself settling between 41 and 47 °Celsius in the internal areas.

Those planning road trips over the weekend to drive towards the northern emirates or even longer towards Oman or Saudi Arabia from Friday, the NCMS is warning the relative humidity will increase during night and early morning times over some coastal and internal areas, with a chance of mist or fog, especially towards the north.

It stated: “It will be partly cloudy over some areas; some towering clouds may appear especially over eastern mountainous areas by afternoon.”

The light to moderate winds will continue into Monday, with a partly cloudy weather over some areas in the eastern areas with the relative humidity increasing during night and early morning times over some coastal and internal areas.

While the Arabian Gulf waters will maintain a relative calm, the Oman Sea is expected to get rough by Saturday.
