Eida cancels typing centres for charging extra

The Emirates Identity Authority (Eida) has withdrawn the service of a number of typing centres who are accused of exploiting clients and charging higher fees.

In a statement released to the press Eida confirmed the charge of Dh70 to be paid to typing offices when filling out the electronic form.
The authority also confirmed that delivery fees are only Dh10.

On the issue of delay in delivery of identity cards, Eida said it is one of the major challenges right now due to the great numbers of registrations.

It is currently processing 12,000 ID cards per day.

Eida however added that the delay in delivering ID cards is also due to inaccurate data in the electronic form, especially addresses.
