Emarat Al Youm, Al Bayan win awards

Dubai-based Emirat Alyoum Arabic language daily has won an award as the best newspaper website in the Middle East.

The tabloid daily was given the “Golden Shield Award” by the UAE-based Excellence Awards Academy at a function held at Al Murooj Rotana hotel in Dubai on Tuesday.

Dubai-based Al Bayan Arabic language daily was among the winners for the Arab media applications while an award was also offered to Sharjah-based Al Khaleej daily.

Prizes were also awarded to 23 other sites covering media, aviation, tourism, security, restaurants and other sectors, according to the Academy’s chairman Pierre Mukarzel.

Other winning sites included Dubai Tourism Authority, the Emirates Specifications and Standards Authority, Ajman Land and Property Authority, and Abu Dhabi Television.
