Dubai-based airline flydubai’s live inflight entertainment news feeds has had more than 25,000 of its flyers read Emirates 24|7 in April.

In February of this year, Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) launched a new media tie-up with flydubai, allowing passengers on board all flights to browse through live news feeds from the above mentioned media outlets on screens of their seats.

The service is available in Arabic and English.

As part of DMI’s initiative to expand its multimedia services through interaction with various institutions and departments of the UAE, Ahmad Abdullah Al Shaikh, Managing Director and Director General of Dubai Media Incorporated said at the time of launch: “DMI is proud of being proactive to keep abreast of all new trends in the media industry and always provide its audience with information services at home and abroad.”

He asserted that DMI is benefiting from this technical progress by harnessing it in the launch of services to keep pace with the spirit of the times and strengthen our ability to carry out our activities fully in order to achieve the highest levels of satisfaction for the people.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said at the time that the new service is coming through our perennial search for new ways to enhance the travel experience and offer more entertainment options on board our flights.

“The system will update the content automatically when landing in Dubai, so as to enable travelers to see the latest developments around the clock and free of charge to all flights.”

According to flybdubai officials, between Al Bayan, Emarat Al Youm and Emirates 24|7, the total number of readers had crossed 50,000 last month.
