It may be back-to-school season with a lot less people travelling out of the UAE, but the country’s most prominent airlines are offering special fares to customers to take advantage of their deals to fly out.

Emirates airline is offering special fares to travel across its worldwide network and these cover all continents. The last day of booking is August 31, and the travel period is between August 10 and November 30 this year.

Under the offer, you can fly to New York for Dh4,965; to Washington for Dh4,295; to Geneva for Dh3,395 and to Cape Town for Dh5,435, among several other destinations. The fare is all-inclusive for a return flight.

Likewise, Etihad Airways is offering special deals on return fares in economy and business class from UAE to various destinations. The last day to book Etihad tickets too is August 31, but the travel period differs with the destinations.

Special airfares are being offered to different international cities, like London for Dh3,125; to Zurich for Dh2,615 and to Belgrade Dh1,955 on an economy return flight. Full list of destinations is available on the airline’s website.

The fares on offer are inclusive of applicable taxes and fuel surcharges but passengers should remember that the actual amount may differ due to fluctuations in the tax amount. Moreover, flight/day restriction and blackout periods may apply.

The Abu Dhabi-based carrier has confirmed that it will begin flying the Airbus A380 and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in December this year, with additional flights on sale this week for both aircraft.

During its first year of operations, the Airbus A380 will be deployed on Etihad’s three daily flights to London, together with selected flights to Sydney.

Between December 2014 and June 2015, the Boeing 787-9 will be introduced on six of the airline’s routes, including Düsseldorf, Doha, Washington DC, Mumbai, Brisbane and Moscow, offering more choice to passengers.

Dubai-based FlyDubai is offering special return business class fares for flights to Dubai from Manama (Bahrain) and Muscat (Oman). The special BHD199/OMR199 fares can be booked until September 23, 2014, with flights valid until the same date.
