An Emirati employer in Dubai tracked his absconding maids through Facebook.

According to a report in 'Al Bayan', he passed on the whereabouts of one of them to Dubai Police after he found pictures of her with a Pakistani man on the social networking site.

He then looked up the Facebook account of the man and discovered his address, the report added.

The Emirati was astonished to find his three Filipina maids disappear one day, because he saw no reason for them to flee as his family was treating them well and they were paid on time as well, he was quoted as saying.

He opened an absconding file with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai and, in the meantime, started his own efforts searching for them online, as he was aware the maids had laptops.

Investigations revealed that a Paksitani national helped the Filipinas flee.

The report said that the accused lured the three maids with the promise of fetching them jobs that would pay them by the hour.

The Dubai Court of Naturalisation and Residency has sentenced the three maids as well as the Pakistani to one-month imprisonment to be followed by deportation.

Judge Ali Humaid bin Khatam, Head of Dubai Public Prosecution of Naturalisation and Residency, said once they are deported they would receive a life-time ban, which would prevent them from entering the UAE ever again.
