Etisalat has issued a warning to its subscribers that they could face service disruptions on March 23, due to a network upgrade.
In an SMS sent out to on Sunday, it says: “An upgrade to our network will be executed on March 23 as part of our constant endeavors to provide you with the latest services, technology and unmatched network quality.
You may experience service disruptions between 2-4am due to the network upgrade. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
According to etisalat it is part of a regular process aimed at regularly updating the network.
The upgrade is specifically timed at the early morning hours when the traffic is really low.
Meanwhile, many residents of Tecom allege that etisalat signals are frequently disrupted there. “I have lodged several complaints about its lack of signal strength. I have been placing my phone next to the balcony in order to receive calls,” said one resident.
