The Department of Transport (DoT) in Abu Dhabi announced that it has offered all its available transport facilities to the audience of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which will be staged at Yas Marina Circuit on November 27-29.

This year’s event is expected to attract a record number of visitors due to favourable weather conditions.

Apart from the deployment of resources, the authority is delivering dedicated bus lanes, free park and ride services, control of the traffic signals and intersections in order to streamline traffic to and from the event.

There are several options to travel to the event.

Shahama Park and Ride- Green Route

Visitors will be able to park at the Shahama site and be transported to Yas Island, free of charge though the Shahama Park-and-Ride service.

At the Shahama site well over 6,000 car parks will be available.

Buses will travel from there to a dedicated loading area at Gate 18 at Yas Marina Circuit. Passengers will then have a choice of walking to their appropriate gate or taking the Circuit Circular to travel to their desired location.

After the concert or the race buses will pick up the park-and-ride passengers from Gate 18.

Car Park W - Blue Route

On Yas Island itself parking is made available at Car Park W, for which guests will have to present a parking card.

From this parking area several bus lines will transport guests to the event areas.

Before the start of the race buses will stop at the South, Marina, and West/Main LZ’s. These buses will make a stop at Gate 25 (Stop 6) to drop concert-going guests, and collect north GS guests going to Gateway Park.

In addition, some buses will stage at Du Forum. Circuit Circular will also operate from all stops to Gate 25 for concert-going guests.

Circuit Circular - Pink Route

Guests will use this service to connect to Ferrari World, Yas Water World, Yas Mall, Yas Plaza Hotels, “The One”, the

Public Bus Network, and all the Grand Stands.

Guests using the public bus network can collect the Circular service from multiple stops to connect to YMC.

During the race, buses from the South and Marina GS will go directly to Gate 25, then continue their route, while buses from West/Main GS will operate per normal carrying Concert and Circular guests.

Yas Direct

This service will collect passengers from the Nation’s Tower Car Park in Abu Dhabi and go directly to Yas Mall/Ferrari World, without any stops in between.

Buses will be deployed every 30 minutes, or as soon as they are full (12pm until 1am on Friday Saturday and Sunday).

This service will be free of charge, and so is parking near these bus stops. Free WiFi will also be provided.

This can be an option for Abu Dhabi-bound guests after the race and concert, if taxi waiting lines are too long, said the DoT.
