An unemployed Arab created a fake life for himself – complete with fake identity and a fake gun.

He then went on to harass people at a nightclub in Dubai, extorting money, before the Dubai Police finally caught up with him, exposed his lies and arrested him.

He used his fake identity and gun to pose as a CID officer.

The suspect, identified as AA, 28, faces charges of forging a driving licence among others.

According to court testimony, a British nightclub manager said he saw AA with a firearm and Dubai Police Corporal SA, 33, added that nightclub goers had complained that AA was seen brandishing a firearm.

Police Sergeant MA, 33, added that AA had deceived a security guard that he was a CID officer.

When the police finally confronted him, near a hotel in Dubai, the accused presented a driving permit that belonged to an Emirati, KA, and claimed he was working at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs.

Upon detail investigations, Dubai Police discovered that AA had forged a licence belonging to KA, an Emirati.

“Upon searching his house and his car, we seized the passport copy of KA in addition to a Belgian passport, a gun-shaped lighter and handcuffs,” the police testified before the court.
