When IK confronted AMM, he admitted that he had sold reinforcement steel saying it was scrap steel and requested IK not to inform his seniors.

But IK informed the company’s mechanical engineer, SM, who inturn informed the police.

SM, 37, told the prosecution that he did receive a phone call from the company’s driver IK saying AMM sold reinforced steel as scrap for Dh900 claiming that the company does not need them anymore.

Meanwhile, KQ, 38, Pakistani, wood dealer, testified before the prosecution that he received a phone call from AMM telling him about the availabilty of steel that the company wants to sell as scrap.

"AMM claimed that he was the engineer in-charge of the site," said KQ and added: "I bought the steel for Dh900."

AM, who is out on bail, attended the hearing and denied the accusation. His lawyer, Noora Al Amiri, asked the court to hear the testimonies of the affirmative witnesses.

The court adjourned the case until November 2 and asked the prosecution to notify the affirmative witnesses to attend the scheduled hearing.
