The role of the family is to act as the first line of defense in protecting children from any exposure to risks, said Colonel Mubarak bin Muhairom, General Director of Community Protection and Crime Prevention at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

Calling upon parents to increase their interest in communicating with their child’s school and other educational environments, Colonel bin Muhairom said that these interactions will contribute to the child’s journey throughout the school year.

“By communicating with your child, you are setting them up for success, and this will be positively reflected through their achievements and ability to excel,” he said. “Discuss any problems that you think may pose challenges for your children in their community or school.”

“The police, a close and trusted friend within the community, are always available to extend a helping hand to parents and educational institutions,” he said, adding that the police are always available, thanks to the established cooperative framework of partnerships and communication channels via various institutions and sectors.

He noted that the Abu Dhabi Community Police Department has scheduled a number of police-related communal activities and programmes to implement throughout the school year.

Pointing to the overwhelming response received from the parents during the activities and programmes from the past years, Colonel bin Muhairom said that the Department continuously endeavors to provide and contribute towards a secure and stable environment.

The General Director of Community Protection and Crime Prevention expressed the sincerest wishes of the Abu Dhabi Police for the children to have a strong school year that is enhanced through educational, police, and community efforts.

He expressed his appreciation for the significance of the awareness campaigns that have been launched by the Ministry of Interior and the Abu Dhabi Educational Council (Adec) within the framework of their ongoing keenness to provide every ingredient for the students’ success and to foster a communal environment that is filled with targeted activities and programmes.
