A horrific collision on Sheikh Zayed Road resulted in a five-car pile-up on Friday morning. The vehicle that caused the accident was crushed while another vehicle caught fire.

Major General Zafeen said that the incident took place at seven o'clock on Friday morning on Sheikh Zayed Road. The driver who caused the accident was suffering from fatigue and the car went out of control.

Consequently, when the car swerved to the left, it hit the divider and collided with another vehicle on the other side, which led to the accident. The driver was injured badly in the incident.

In yet another accident, two Emirati young men, driving a quad bike, were killed in a traffic accident, which involved their bike and another vehicle, said Chief Traffic Prosecutor in Dubai Salah Bu Farousha.

The accident occurred in Dubai's Warqa'a area.

Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen, Director of the General Directorate of Traffic in Dubai, said that the incident took place at 10 o'clock on Thursday in Warqa'a. The 19-year-old Emirati was driving a quad bike in a sandy area. His 18-year-old friend was riding with him.

When the duo decided to drive over to the sandy area across the road, their two-wheeler collided with a four-wheel vehicle that was plying on the main road running between the sandy stretch.

The car crashed into the quad bike. The incident resulted in the death of the bike driver and his friend who was riding with him.

An investigation has been ordered into the accident.
