Filipino dies 6 days after converting

A Filipino priest in Saudi Arabia died just six days after converting to Islam while attending a lecture on the religion in the Gulf Kingdom.

Edward decided to convert to Islam after listening to a lecture on the religion held in the capital Riyadh by the Islamic Guidance Office, a government body.
“Edward died just six days after embracing Islam. Doctors said he died of a heart attack,” the Arabic language daily ‘Sabq’ said.

It quoted Sheikh Khalid Al Hinti, a lecturer at the Office, as saying a “benevolent” man decided to donate money to Edward’s family in Saudi Arabia.
