Earlier, the blaze that started late last evening had sent up a plume of smoke that could be seen many miles away.

Fire-fighting teams and fire brigade vehicles were on the scene to put out fire. Smoke could be seen as far as in International City.

"We could see smoke even here in International City," a reader told Emirates 24l7.

Dubai Police said there were no injuries and Civil Defence teams were on the site. There's a "huge fire on a yacht in the Jadaf (Duba) area and there are no injuries and fire still continues," Dubai Police tweeted at 10.43pm on Sunday evening.

Jadaf Dubai is one of the oldest ship repairing yards in the Arabian Gulf.
