Companies, institutions and businesses with more than 100 employees will not be able to have any dealings with the Ministry of Labour unless the Public Relations Officer is an Emirati.
According to a report in Arabic daily Emirat Al Youm, the Ministry of Labour will refuse to receive any transactions submitted these private enterprises if the PRO post is not held by a national.
The report cites a Ministry of Labour decree on Emiratisation as the basis for this ruling.
Humaid bin Dimas, Undersecretary for Labour Affairs, Ministry of Labour, stated that the ministry refused to receive transactions of a company last week, after it discovered that the number of employees exceeds 5,700.
He stressed that the ministry has succeeded in Emiratisation through measures applied recently, including the posts of public relations representatives.
