First baby boy born on UAE National Day in Abu Dhabi

The first baby boy born on the 45th UAE National Day at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children was born at 1:01 am.

The baby boy is the third child for the family, after two older sisters, said Mr Sultan Al Hammadi, the father.

His birth on UAE National Day was a surprise for us, and now the memorable occasion is doubled for us. We named our newborn Mohammed. The father concluded, “we are very thankful for this blessing.”

The baby was delivered by Dr Rihan Saafan, Consultant Obstetrics and Gynecology at Danat Al Emarat hospital.  

Dr Saafan said, “the 3.5 kg baby was due in 10 days but decided to join the family on this special occasion for all and double the joy of his parents. Both baby and mother are in good health."

The second baby, was born at 9:36 am, and weighed 3.1 Kg and is the second boy for the family. His father, Ali Mohamad Al Yihyaee said, “the baby is in good health and we have named him Salman, We are extremely proud to have him join us on the 45th UAE National Day. From here, we would like to congratulate UAE leaders, government and the people of UAE on this very special day which is very dear to our hearts. We named the baby Salman.”

The third baby was born at 10 am, and weighed 2.45 kg, and is the third child for the family but the first girl. Her father, Obaid Sultan Obaid Salem said, “We are blessed to have our baby girl join the family on this day. This is a very special occasion for us all. We have named our new bundle of joy, Salama.”

Vino Nallaya, CEO of Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children said, "We are happy to welcome three newborns during the first hours of the 45th UAE National Day at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children. All 3 babies and mothers are doing well and are in good health. With our 3 newborns today, 1889 babies have been born at our hospital since we opened in October 2015.  All these precious bundles were managed by our 55 medical team members of obstetricians, pediatricians and neonatologists, and we expect to welcome another 3 babies by end of today."

The hospital distributed flowers and gifts for all patients who are spending the UAE National day at the hospital.
