Five mishaps in three days claim three lives

The Dubai Traffic Prosecution is investigating the five major accidents that claimed three lives and injured another three in the last four days in the emirate.

The first incident took place at 3.30am on Thursday, when a 19-year-old Arab national ran over an Asian in Al Quoz, killing him on the spot, 'Gulf Today' quoted Counsellor Salah Bu Frousha, Head of the Dubai Traffic Prosecution, as saying.

In the second mishap on the same day, a 25-year-old Asian ran over two people in Dubai Investment Park area. While one person succumbed to his injuries the other person is critical.

The third accident, again on Thursday, involved an Asian motorbike rider who swerved on the bridge near the Dubai Commercial Centre, hit the barricade and turned turtle.

He is admitted with major injuries.

On Friday, the rear door of a bus opened suddenly, catching a passer-by completely unawares. The victim is hospitalised.

And on Saturday, an Asian ignored a red signal and rammed his car into another vehicle. One person was injured.
