Sharjah’s Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) has confiscated four wolves in Al Sabkha district, in cooperation with the Emirate’s police and municipality.

The seizure is in line with the administrative order No. 15 of year 2015, issued by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on banning  ownership of predators and dangerous animals in the Emirate of Sharjah.

Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, chairperson of EPAA, said she had received reports from Al Sabkha district inhabitants about people keeping such animals. She said that after verifying the reports, an EPPA squad specialised in dealing with dangerous animals, along with personnel from the police and the municipality, was formed which seized the four wolves.

She added that the Ruler of Sharjah's order on the possession of predators was intended to ensure public safety.
