Free Groupon deals to celebrate 2nd b’day in UAE; but why are customers still complaining?

Popular deal website Groupon is celebrating its second birthday in the UAE and to mark the event it is offering free deals every two hours to its loyal customers.

However, several people are complaining that despite repeated attempts they can’t avail of the free offers on the site.

“I immediately clicked on the free deals the moment the e-mail landed in my mailbox. When I clicked on to it to grab the freebie, it says the deal is 'locked' and all the other paid options are available,” a customer told this website.

And, it’s the same story with all other so-called free deals, he added. Many other customers had the same story to tell.

A Groupon spokesperson confirmed to this website that this offer is for real.

“These deals are definitely for free but they get snapped up fast, sometimes just in a few minutes. Customers can go on our Facebook page and see the comments of those who have benefitted from these deals. The sold out deals just says locked. This is a technical issue,” the spokesperson told Emirates 24|7.

For those who think they were unlucky should not lose heart. “Free deals will be on every two hours,” added the Groupon official.
