Friends mourn death of man who died in sleep

A 30-year-old Indian technical staff of a leading telecommunication company was found dead on Tuesday morning in his sharing accommodation in Mussafa, Abu Dhabi. According to his friends, Jaimon Xavier 30 went to sleep on Monday night did not wake up the next day. According to preliminary reports, he could have died while sleeping. 

Jaimon Xavier, a technician who has been working  for a facility management wing of a leading telecom company in Abu Dhabi for five years, returned from his vacation last Friday, underwent medical tests and was completing other formalities to get his visa stamped, when all of a sudden, was found dead in his sharing accommodation. “He appeared to be happy and healthy and shared a room with three other bachelors. He went to sleep at mid night on Monday and other roommates too did not notice anything unnatural. As usual, two of his colleagues got up and left for work and the third colleague was about leave for his work, when he saw Jaimon still sleeping. When he tried to wake him up, there was no response,” said a friend of the deceased, son of Kochupurackal Xavier and Kunjamma who live in Mithrakkery Alappuzha district of Kerala.

Jaimon Xavier shared a room with three others in Mussafa Industrial area of Abu Dhabi. While his friends hinted that the man just returned from his vacation, after making initial proceedings for his marriage, they think he was a happy man after getting a promotion in his job. “When he was not getting up, we called the ambulance and the ambulance staff confirmed his death. From the hospital, Abu Dhabi police was informed. His roommates were questioned to ascertain the reason for his death and they are all released now,” added a friend of the deceased. The dead body is kept in the Khalifa Hospital Abu Dhabi. While his friends hinted at the possibility of the deceased having low blood pressure, the officials did not confirm the same.

An official from the Facilities Management Company, where Xavier worked told Emirates 24|7: “He started working with us in  December 2014. Abu Dhabi Police has examined the case and we are told that it is a normal death. There are no issues and the dead body will be repatriated to India after completing the legal proceedings.” The official said there was no issue with his visa or job and his roommates who were questioned by the Abu Dhabi police have released them. “We are expecting a police report today and the body will be repatriated after getting the report,” the official from the  Facilities Management Company said.
