Ajman Police have arrested five European men for perpetrating an ATM scam in the emirate.
The arrested men are accused of installing devices on ATM machines that copied data from ATM cards used.
Colonel Abdullah Saif Al Matrooshi, Director of the Department of Criminal Investigation, said that the Ajman Police received a tip-off from a company employed by a bank to monitor ATMs.
An investigation revealed a metal piece placed at the ATM that copied the bank details from the ATM card and a camera installed on the device as well that could record the PIN.

The accused confessed to the crime and also admitted the involvement of two other people, living with them in Ajman.
After arresting all the accused the police have transferred the case to the public prosecution in Ajman.
Colonel Abdullah said that the defendants entered the country on a visit visa.
