The Dubai World Trade Centre has been abuzz since the start of the week with Gitex Shopper in full swing.

Apart from "killer" offers and "crazy" deals, its also the freebies that set the shoppers' hearts alight.

Glowing with delight at his first win today was Jeffrey Basas de Los Reyes, a Filipino national, who walked away with a Huawei smartphone after a successful game of Mini-Golf.

Speaking to Emirates 24|7, he said: "This is a really great surprise because I didn't expect to win anything here!" He also added that he would be using the phone for his own use.

Minutes later, two more names were announced.

This time, the winners try their luck on a set of keys that should fit in one of six boxes that will decide which sized HiSense TV (upto 65-inches)  they get to take home with them.

"This is my first prize since coming to Gitex Shopper from day one, so I'm very happy, " explained a very delighted Sukanta Das Gupta, Bangladeshi national, who said he's keeping his 32-inch Hisense TV that he won.

With regular draws, bundles, games and competitions, the prize of two Mini Coopers is one of the unique offers at Gitex.

Speaking to Emirates 24|7, Mahesh Chotrani - Assistant Vice President at Jacky's, says: "This is our first time to have a prize of this sort, whereby we are giving away 2 Mini Cooper cars."

Indian national, Dheeraj R, from Dubai, also won a 32-inch Hisense TV, but will not keep it for himself. "I will gift this to one of my friends."

The competitions and prizes  at Gitex are still on at the Dubai World Trade Centre until Saturday, October 4.
