Government of Dubai Media Office celebrates UAE Flag Day

In response to the call of Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to celebrate UAE Flag Day, Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO), organised on Thursday ‘The Flags Garden’ in Jumeirah.

Held for the third year in a row, this year’s ‘Flags Garden’ features 4000 flags arranged to create the shape of the UAE’s map.

The Flag Day marks the anniversary of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan becoming the president of the UAE.

Mona Al Marri, Director General of GDMO, led the staff of GDMO, Dubai Press Club (DPC) and Brand Dubai in celebrating the UAE Flag Day, which celebrates the country’s unity, ideals and values.

Al Marri said 'Flag Day' is an opportunity to express our sense of national unity and solidarity and our allegiance to the country. "’Flags Garden’ is a unique celebration of our country’s values, our national pride and our love for our country. Our flag represents the UAE’s unique identity and tells the story of the creation of our nation by our founding fathers," she added.

The ‘Flags Garden’ offers visitors unique opportunities to take pictures against the spectacular backdrop of the flags.
