An Abu Dhabi court acquitted a man from another Gulf country after he was falsely accused by his ex-wife of molesting his five-year-old daughter.

Just after the judge cleared the man, his daughter leapt and hugged him in an emotional scene in court.

The court found that the man’s ex-wife had made the accusations twice because of persistent rifts on who should take custody of the little girl.

Once he was cleared of such charges in the first case, the woman accused him again, saying she found red marks on her daughter’s body.

She told court that when she asked her daughter about those marks, the girl replied that her father molested her.

“The court acquitted the father after it found no evidence that he molested his daughter,” the Arabic language daily 'Al Bayan' said.

“After the sentence was issued, the man asked the judge if he could hug his daughter, which the judge agreed. The girl then jumped and hugged him as both cried. It was a touching emotional scene in court.”
