The celebration comes in recognition and gratitude to the generous patronage and continued support to Emirati women by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which has contributed to raising the status of women regionally and globally.

Sheikha Manal commented, "The UAE has always ranked high in several global reports. It came globally first in government efficiency, and in bridging cultures, and was also ranked as the highest ranking Arab nation in the happiness and satisfaction of it people.

“Additionally, the UAE was recently ranked globally first in women's education, and the first regionally in reducing the gender gap, according to the World Economic Forum's gender gap index."

"We are proud of the achievements of Emirati women and their honorable image in all international forums, since the establishment of the Union till today.

“This reflects the keenness of our wise leadership in empowering women and promoting their effective role in our nations continued development and progress," she added.

Sheikha Manal continued by praising the unwavering support of the Mother of UAE, Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Supreme Chairwoman of Family Development Foundation (FDF), Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU) and Chairwoman of the Supreme Council of Motherhood & Childhood, who has played a string and supportive role in the achievements of UAE women today.

She reinforced her belief that a country can only make advancements through the active participation of both women and men.

‘Happiest Women in the World’ title was chosen for the celebrations of Dubai Women Establishment, Dubai Ladies Club and the Cultural Office based on the high ranks of the UAE as the first Arab nation to receive a high ranking in the happiness and satisfaction of the people, according to the results of a survey by the United Nations.

This title was also inspired by the poem ‘The Happiest People’ by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
