Holiday declared for all next Thursday

Both public and private sector to remain closed to mark the Prophet's birthday

The private sector companies and corporations will close down on Thursday, February 17, to mark Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH) birthday, according to a circular issued by the Ministry of Labour.

Public holiday declared for all in UAE next Thursday


 
The ministry congratulated President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and members of the Supreme Council, Their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates, the UAE people and government, and the Arab and Muslim nations, on this occasion.
 
A circular was issued earlier this month by Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qattami, the chairman of the board of the Federal Authority for Human Resources and Minister of Education, declared holiday for the public sector including schools, federal ministries and department.
 
Although the Prophet Mohammed’s (PBUH) birthday falls on Tuesday, February 15, the public holiday has been shifted to Thursday.

    My family is in India, my girlfriend is in India, I don't have anybody to celebrate the long weekend with, and I don't really enjoy going out with friends. I am gonna be bored! :-(
