Holiday Weekend: Free parking in Dubai

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the business hours of all transport-related services in Dubai during the Isra & Mi'raj holiday, including customers’ service centres, paid parking zones, public buses, Dubai metro and tram services, marine transit modes, driving schools; and vehicle testing and registration centres.

“All customer service centres will be closed during Isra & Mi’raj holiday corresponding to Thursday, May 5, 2016, and will be back to business on Sunday, May 8. All paid parking zones will be free across the emirate on Thursday with the exception of multi-level parking lots and the Fish Market parking area. Paid parking services will be reactivated on Saturday, May 7,” said Yousef Al Reda, CEO of RTA Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector.

“The Metro Green Line stations on Thursday 5th  May will be in service from 05:50 am to 01:00 am (of the following day). On Wednesday and Saturday( 4th  and 7th ) May, stations will be in service from 05:50 am to 12:00 am (midnight), and on Friday 6th  May, stations will be operating from 10:00 am up to 01:00 am (of the following day).

“The Metro Red Line stations on Wednesday (May 4) and Saturday (May 7) will be in service from 05:30am to 12:00am (midnight). On Thursday, May 5, stations will be in service from 05:30am to 01:00am (of the following day), and on Friday, May 6, stations will be operating from 10am up to 1am (of the following day).

“The Dubai Tram will be in service on Thursday and Saturday 5th  and 7th May from 06:30 am to 01:00 am (of the following day), and on Friday 6th  May from 09:00 am until 01:00 am (of the following day.

“All public bus services (Dubai Bus) will be as follows: Main Bus Stations such as Gold Souk, will operate from 04:25 am to 01:00 am (of the following day). Al Ghubaiba Station will be in service from 05:00 am to 12:10 midnight. Sub-stations such as Satwa, will start from 05:00 am to 11:15 pm except for Route C01, which operates, around-the-clock. Al Qusais Station will run bus service from 04:40 am to 11:10 pm; Al Quoz Industrial Station will start operation from 05:00 am to 11:35 pm, while Jebel Ali Station will start business from 05:40 am and continue up to 09:45 pm.

“Metro feeder bus stations at Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall, Abu Hail, and Etisalat will be in service from 05:15 am to 01:10 am (of the following day). Inter-city bus service will be operating as follows: Main stations such as Al Ghubaiba will remain operating around the clock to Sharjah (Jubail), and Abu Dhabi service will be run from 05:00 am up to 11:40 pm. Substations such as Union Square will be in service from 04:30 am up to 01:25 am (of the following day). Al Sabkha Station will be operating from 06:00 am until 01:30 am (of the following day), Deira City Centre Station will be operating from 05:35 am until 11:30 pm, Karama Station will run from 06:10 am until 10:20 pm, and Al Ahli Club Station will run from 06:05 am to 10:25 pm. External Stations such as Sharjah’s Al Ta’awon will run from 05:30 am until 10:00 pm, Fujairah Station will operate from 06:00 am until 10:05 pm, Ajman Station from 04:30 am until 10:00 pm, and Hatta Station will be in operation from 06:00 am until 10:05 pm.

“The timing of marine transit services will be as follows: The Water Bus will run at Marina Stations (Marina Mall, Marina Walk, Marina Terrace, Marina Promenade) from 12:00 at noon up to 12:00 midnight, while Dubai Ferry will be shuttling at Ghubaiba and Marina Stations from 11:00 am to 01:00 pm and from 05:00 pm to 06:30 pm. At the Marina, there will be a one-hour trip starting from 06:30 pm. The Water Taxi will operate from 09:00 am until 10 pm.

“Abra timing will be as follows: Traditional Abra will operate in Dubai Creek Stations (Ghubaiba, Al Sabkha, Baniyas, and Dubai Old Souk), from 10:00 am until 12:00 midnight. The (Electric) Blue Abra will be operating at Burj Khalifa from 06:00 pm until 11:00 pm, at Al Mamzar from 02:00 pm until 12:00 midnight, and at the Atlantis from 01:00 pm until 09:00 pm,” explained Al Reda.

“All centers of strategic partners will be closed during Isra & Mi’raj holiday except the Platinum Center, Tasjeel at Al Barsha Center, and Tasjeel at Al Qusais Center,” concluded the CEO of RTA Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector.
